Great article. I thought point #3 (about taking cars off the road) was really interesting because I'm a person who has a car in Hoboken and I do really enjoy driving. That being said, I avoid Washington Street like the plague because of the double-parking and the resulting craziness. If we had these bike lanes, I would no longer have to avoid double-parked cars AND avoid bikers who are avoiding the double-parked cars. I might even be able to park there when I want to go out to dinner if the price of parking were raised. Right now, it seems like all the parking on Washington is taken by people who plan on parking there for DAYS. It really doesn't make sense to me that the business owners were against this.
